Overview -

The 1914 - 1929 time period was a era of much political, social, and economic change for Canada. Though Canadians experienced much loss and destruction during these years , this change brought about much progress in Canada. The largest area of improvement is economic. Prosperity after war, a thriving automotive industry and growing consumer markets all contributed to the growth of the Canadian economy. This boost in the economy made quality of life better for some Canadians and made Canada a desirable place to live. Another area of progress in Canada is politics. For example, the battle of Vimy Ridge which put Canada on the map and proved to the rest of the world we are a force not to be reckoned with. Also with the addition of women’s rights to vote, Canada took a step forward into a future with more equality. Finally social change. Social change in 1914 - 1929 happened like a rollercoaster, lots of ups but also lots of downs. There was times were Canada was making a lot of progress but also times were there was some decline. I believe that there was no decline in social change in Canada ( as seen with the chart above ) which I believe is progress in itself.
